MMU FTC Celebrates the 80th Anniversary of Charles A. Lindbergh’s non-stop Transatlantic solo flight.
May 29, 1910 - City-to-city flight - Glenn Curtiss, from Albany NY to New York City, a then-epic flight of about 150 miles. This could loosely be credited as the first air mail flight, as well, for he unofficially carried a letter from Albany’s mayor to the mayor of NYC.
June 2, 1917 - Army Aviation Section renamed - Aviation Section became the Airplane Division of the Army Signal Corps. Maj B D Foulois appointed officer-in-charge on 7/23/17.
May 16-31, 1919 - Transatlantic flight - USN LtCdr Albert C Read and pilot Lt Walter Hinton, in Curtiss NC-4, one of a flight of three, from Long Island to Plymouth, England, via Newfoundland, the Azores, and Lisbon, 4,514 miles in 53h:58m.
June 1, 1919 - Forestry air patrol - An organized and sustained aerial forest fire patrol was initiated at Rockwell Field CA, using Curtiss JN-4Ds and JN-6Hs.

Currently, there is construction taking place on the bravo taxiway. All aircraft are requested to enter via the Hangar 5 ramp and then proceed to charlie, lima, kilo taxiways.
